Ranged Attacks

Ranged attacks are considered any attack that can be defended against, but cannot be reciprocated on. The force of a spell can be attacked, dispelled, or other wise affected, but the Mage himself cannot be directly attacked unless the target itself has a suitable range attack. This rule would be used for archers targeting an opponent at range. The opponent could not directly damage the archer with a successful roll. He could however use his success to move closer to the archer. Typically, the GM will establish the range of the ranged attack. At close range, a target of a ranged attack may only require a single success over the archer to close the gap. At medium range it may take 2 successes or even 3 at long range. This is totally left to the discretion of the GM as each situation may require a different number of successes based on the intervening terrain.
